over the counter pills for water retention?
As I have said Im sure many times before I have been having problems losing any weight at all but yet I still keep going on with exercize and counting calories. So this morning I woke up and my hands were swollen and hurt, this is a normal occurence for me. I wear a ring size 5 on my ring finger and had to get my wedding bands a size 7 so that they will fit on the days that my hands are swollen. On the days they arent swollen my rings fall off so I have one of those sizer things I wear. Anyway, I was talking with my Mother on the phone and she said to try some of the over the counter water pills to help with the extra water retention. Well I bought some earlier and they are the kind without caffine but I have never taken anything like that so I was just wondering if anyone has and if they actually work?
Today I didnt get any actual exercise time in, I got up and going as soon as I woke up and had alot to do in town. I did however buy a new Biggest Loser cardio dvd to start with tomorrow and also a new pair of work out pants to go with the dvd. I am still sore from Wednesdays workout, it was alot better this morning but after a full day of non stop walking and going Im feeling it again.
I do not know about the water pills but you may want to get checked out to make sure that there isn’t an underlying problem…
within the last year I have had so many test done and just about everything checked, I had my thyroid checked 3 different times because thyroid problems do run in my family and when I was younger I did have an overactive thyroid. I think most of the water retention is from my 12-16 soda a day habit, but I have quit that and switched to a better no calorie soda with low sodium, I have also paid more attention to my sodium intake and cut way down on high sodium foods. I think the battle now is just shedding all the extra water weight that I have carried for years.
You should see the doctor because swollen hands could be something besides water weight. And taking water pills could deplete your potassium, then your legs will ache and other problems could occur from taking it.
